In addition, you will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations. We furthermore offer the opportunity for you to be part of our digital transformation, applying new technologies to connect and automate our processes. Together we work with AI, data science, machine learning, circular systems, virtual manufacturing and more, to build our fully electric or autonomous products.

Required knowledge/experience

  • Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation.
  • In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English.
  • Bachelor/master’s in engineering or Bachelor/Master in IT
  • Valid work permit for the applied country if not a citizen.
  • Strong communication skills (Dutch and English). You can motivate/coach your team members and set development goals.
  • You feel comfortable in working with a diverse cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge in software and programming
  • Passion for process optimization


Job Description:

As a member of the production engineering team, you will facilitate the introduction of new technologies in the form of both data and software focused process optimizations. This ranges from supporting the operational team to solve complex diagnostic questions, analyze our current WOW and systems-map to see how we can link useful information together, create tools to help visualize and understand our data and create opportunities to work smarter in our day-to-day job.
A software leader, you will be responsible for a team of production operators, who are responsible for keeping our software diagnostic tool (PROSIT) up & running and support the product repair teams with diagnosing and reprogramming the truck. You take care of the coaching of a small team, motivate your employees, and enable them to achieve their goals.

At the Group Trucks Operation Plant in Ghent, we build around 200 heavy-duty trucks per day. Guided by Continuous Improvement, the assembly plant provides a challenging working environment where our Customers’ Success is our number one priority. This is us, your new team:

You will be joining our team of production, software, tooling & maintenance engineers who together represent the beating technical heart of our assembly plant. We are responsible for analyzing and optimizing the assembly processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Working closely together with a cross-functional team consisting of colleagues from operations, safety, quality and other engineering departments, the team aims to work out the most effective solutions for all the challenges in the assembly process a big plant like ours faces. These include product changes and introductions, rebalances and facilitating the integration of new technologies... and that’s where you come in!!!
